Captain and Crew of Flying Ginny VII, a 55 ft Lagoon Caribbean Yacht Charter

Crew Profile

Peter Scully is your captain. Originally from England, he has spent most of his life traveling, working in the “off season” as a tour guide in Europe and the “on season” as a Captain. He has spent most of his life aboard yachts. With extensive knowledge of the Mediterranean, Bahamas, Florida and the Caribbean Islands, Peter chose the Virgin Islands (his favourite) as his cruising area. “Cocktails on the aft deck, wonderful sunsets, gently swaying palm trees, stingrays swimming past and those Tropical bars on white sandy beaches” How could he not enjoy it?Some of Peter’s interests include, Diving and Snorkeling, Rugby, Cricket, Golf, Waterskiing and preserving all types of marine life.

Kristin (KC) is your gourmet chef. Originally from Savannah, Georgia.
She attended University there, studying Business Management. After graduating she decided to travel extensively. While on her travels, she became fascinated in the different culinary styles of the countries. So much so that she decided to become a chef. She studied in Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Thailand and USA, where she also took a bar tending course. She then combined her business and culinary skills and started her own very successful catering and wedding company, which she later sold. Following this KC got itchy feet and decided to pursue one of her many interests, sailing. She came to the Virgin Islands and has been a chef here for the last 8 years.
KC has won numerous culinary awards, not to mention numerous guests returning year after year to enjoy her cuisine. She is also an avid diver and an advocate of preserving the life of the endangered sea turtles, and all other sea life

Dear Peter and Ruth,

Well we made it home safely, to cold and rainy weather. Of course the ferry we were taking only went on Sunday’s, so we had breakfast across the street, after waiting forever in customs, we made the flight.
We want to thank you again for giving us a trip that we will always remember. But mostly, thank you for being so kind to Tom and Kahler.

We want to come back…………..we are cold!
Best Wishes,
Kim, Tom, Kahler and Tom

This week was so special

McGuire charter
I think I can speak for the others in saying that we all had a wonderful
time! Nick and Lyndsay really spoiled us. They both were very friendly and professional. Nick is an excellent captain and knew how to get us away from the crowded bays and into more quite areas. Lyndsay is an excellent chef and we’re all still amazed of the quality meals she was able to put together in such a small kitchen, I personally put on about 8 pounds. The Flying Ginny VII is well kept, clean and is well equipped. We all agreed that we would love to take another cruise but it would be hard to do on a different boat or with another crew because we would be comparing everything to the Flying Ginny VII and Nick and Lyndsay.

Chris and Deborah McGuire

Our deepest appreciation for a supremely killfully navigated week of rest and relaxation. Our decision to return to FLYING GINNY has been absolutely validated. The Scully Fleet is clearly on the way to great things. Chef Kristen Clemens has raised the bar for all our future culinary excursions. Fiar winds and following seas. Best Cheryl
Dear Peter and K.C.,
Maybe just in two simple words we can express our feelings “THANK YOU!!” You are fantastic, the Flying Ginny is a fantastic sailboat and you both are fantastic people. The whole family is delighted with such wonderful holidays. Hoping to see you again., Luisa, Segundo, Maria, Juana & Catalina

God bless you and for putting up with Peter yelling Ruth! All of the time. We all love you guys in the short of time. Good luck in all your adventures! We wills see you again, I’m sure!! Hollie

Dear Peter & Ruth,
I just wanted to say that I had an amazing time along with my family sailin the British Virgin Islands with you and Ruth. As you know I love to eat…alot and I will be missing Ruth and all of her spectacular cooked dishes. also, to come here and be afraid of the deep blue sea, I gained alot of self-confidence from the help of you Peter, so thank you for helping me face my fear and putting $250 in my pocket. Anyways, out of all the vacations I have been on this one beats them all, so thanks again for making this a rmembering moment in my life. But out of all the Islands we sailed, to Anagada was my favorite. The lobster and shrimp were excellent. Now since these 7 days have come to an end and it’s time for us to leave for our home state of Iowa, once again thanks for a once in a life time experience which will not be forgotten. Jake PS Hopefully see you again because you guys are the BEST.

There once was a captain named Peter
Whose boat couldn’t be neater
Ruth was his mate
Her food was so GREAT
Together they made our life sweeter.
Blessed were their guest
All from the Midwest
Once we set sail we soon
Became pals and our bonds only
Became deeper
Today our trip ends but
No worries our Friends
Our memories of you will
Be stuck like Glue
May God bless you forever

Peter & Ruth,
You are the best! We cannot thank you enough for making Tom & Kahler’s 16th birthday something they will always remember. Thank you Ruth, A.K.A. Navy Seal, for protecting Kahler from “Baddy”. Food was great, and being with you and Ruth was even better. Who knew we would be in Virgin Gorda for three days because of too much wind, thanks for keeping us safe, your hospitality and making us feel like family will always be remembered. The card games were the best. Hopefully our paths will cross again. Kim, Tom, Kahler & Tom P.S. – Never sit next to Peter while playing cards (He’s a cheater!!!)
