| Season | Months | Weather Conditions | Key Considerations |
| Peak Dry Season | January – March | Warm temperatures (mid-70s to low 80s °F / 24 °C to 28 °C), low humidity, and minimal rainfall. Stronger, consistent trade winds are excellent for sailing. | High prices and the largest crowds due to peak travel from colder climates. Must book well in advance. |
| Shoulder Season (Best Value) | April – May | The transition months. Weather remains excellent—warm, mostly dry, with increasing temperatures and slightly higher humidity. Crowds begin to thin. | April is often cited as the perfect balance of great weather and fewer crowds than the peak winter months. Prices start to drop. |
| Wet Season / Off-Season | June – November | Hotter, more humid, and more frequent rainfall, though rain often comes as short, heavy bursts. Temperatures can reach the high 80s (31 °C). | Lower prices and fewer crowds. This period coincides with the Atlantic Hurricane Season. |
| Hurricane Season Risk | August – October | The peak time for tropical storms and hurricanes. | High risk of travel disruption. Some smaller businesses, restaurants, and charter companies may close during this period. |

The Typically Best Times to Visit

For the absolute best weather and sailing conditions, the best time to book your vacation is from January to March. Expect consistent sun, very calm conditions with a slight breeze and low rain during this period. April to May is a great choice if you want to maximise the sun without the peak season hitting. May and early June are going to be good if you don’t want to travel during the high season, with May being the best month to book. Although some people will suggest that the hurricane season is a good time to book, we do not recommend booking in this period.
The time will also depend on your itinerary. If you are looking for a cosy getaway where you don’t need to do too many activities when on land, then you can choose the lower seasons, but if you want an action-packed holiday with a lot of activities, then the high season will be best.
Booking in Advance to Avoid Disappointment

Booking early if you are looking to book in the peak season is highly recommended, so if you are considering your dream yachting vacation in the BVI, you should get in touch as soon as possible. We will do our best to provide you with your ideal time to visit and book your yacht, and we offer a wide range of different vessels to maximise availability. For the peak season, it’s recommended to book around 8 to 12 months in advance to avoid disappointment.
