Captain Mike Jones & Chef/Mate Cassandra Featonby-Smith
Cassie and Mike are a young, fun loving couple who have a passion for travel, people and adventure. Their love for meeting new people and exploring new places has now brought them to the Caribbean.
Mike always had a love for water sports. While studying in Cape Town his interest in sailboats evolved. After finishing his degree, Mike began his yachting career as Deckhand on a 45 day passage from Cape Town to St Maarten. This experience had him hooked and he proceeded to work on different boats around the world. After obtaining his RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (for both motor and sail boats), he skippered 2 boats simultaneously in the Med. Sailing boats and the adventures that ensue is what drives Mike's passion for the ocean. He holds RYA Yachtmaster Ocean and AEC Engineering Certification.
Cassie grew up in a warm beach town on the East Coast of South Africa. Being part of a large, food-loving family meant she learnt the value of quality time whilst preparing and sharing meals early on in life. Since then she has completed various courses to further her passion for fresh, delicious and wholesome cooking. As a keen adventurer above and below water, Cassie believes that the freedom of sailing is the best food for the soul.
Cassie and Mike look forward to having you aboard Sayang and showing you the best that the Caribbean has to offer.

Guests aboard SOMETHING WONDERFUL for an April, 2023, birthday charter, wrote:
My 70th birthday was expected to be terrific as we headed to BVI to board 58’ Something Wonderful with three other couples. All are family and lifetime friends so the setting and company guaranteed a memorable trip.
All our many expectations were exceeded in the most stunning ways largely the result of our fantastic crew Morne and Kayla. These amazing young people thrilled us with their sailing experience, island knowledge and 5 STAR service all while sharing 7 uniquely different overnight moorings during our circumnavigation of Tortola.
Fantastic nights sleeping aboard some cool enough for fresh air blowing through the cabin portals or when hot an A/C system that works!! Awakening to pressed coffee and a gourmet breakfast is Something Wonderful everyday.
Mornings conclude with a sail to another exotic snorkeling or sightseeing destination. Another 5 STAR lunch by Kayla magically prepared aboard. We were truly spoiled.
Something Wonderful is in the minority in a sea full of catamarans in that the entire upper floor is covered by a hard top with zippered enclosures we left open all week. As Morne sailed us from the upper helm to our next destination it was our place of relaxation and music. Enormous seating with sunbathing deck and a bar kept us upstairs and outdoors all week, morning to evening. The views of the endlessly clear and vibrant blue/green waters captivated all 4 couples.
Our fantastic days concluded with another stunning dinner prepared by Kayla often with Morne’s help as they obviously enjoyed taking us to culinary heights we never expected. Wine and drinks abounded and singing and dancing made this birthday celebration my best ever and maybe the best ever for all our family and friends.
We will return … all of us …. for all the right reasons. Do not miss the opportunity to join Morne and Kayla aboard Something Wonderful.
Thank you for the trip of a lifetime from all of us!!!

Dear Mike and Kristyna
Thank you very much for making our first trip to the BVI so memorable. We loved every minute of everyday. The sailing was wonderful! Snuba diving was excellent and I doubt we would ever thought of it, if you had not suggested it. The food was outstanding! Kristyna you are an excellent chef and Mike is a great 1st mate in the kitchen! On the other side of this coin is Mike – great captain and Kristyna great1st mate on the boat! We enjoyed relaxing at Oil Nut Bay – a good midweek break. Sayang is a beautifully maintained boat and your pride in her shines through. We are so glad we booked with you and will forever stick with monohull adventures. We are looking forward to sailing with you again in the future.
Thank you and very best regards,
Rosalind, Robert and Jacob Zils
