Booking a crewed charter yacht vacation can be an exciting experience, and it’s great to have expert advice to guide you through the process. To choose the best crewed yacht charter, you need up-to-date detailed information on how to book your Crewed Charter Yacht Vacation. We help you make this important decision with our own personal knowledge of the boats and crews. Our advice is based on attending numerous boat shows, inspecting the yachts and meeting the crews in person. This enables us to give you the best advice suited for your BVI yacht charter.
Yacht Charter – Deposit /Confirmed Booking
Once you have chosen your crewed charter yacht, the next steps typically involve securing the reservation and making the required deposit. Here’s what you can expect in the process.
Hold and deposit
We place a hold on the vessel for your dates. This can be held for up to 10 days. Meanwhile we send you a contract to sign and return to us with the deposit. This can be between 25% and 50% depending on how far in advance your yacht charter starts. If your booking is less than 6 months ahead, then the deposit required will be 50%. Scheduled dates for payments will be on the contract.
Please note the vacation booking is not confirmed until both the contract and deposit are received.
Payment Methods depend on the yacht and its clearing house (admin office for yacht). The payment options can be via wire transfer (preferred and quick), credit card (interest will be charged) or US cheque sent via Fedex or something similar. The payment method will be advised by Dynamic Charters at time of booking. Details of the Cancellation Policy can be viewed on the contract and should be read carefully before signing.
Once Your Yacht Charter is Booked and Confirmed
We return a copy your counter signed contract with a preference sheet for you and all your guests to fill in. The preference and information sheets are very important as they provide valuable information for the boat crew, especially on the food and beverage side. Every luxury crewed yacht charter menu is unique and tailor-made for the guests from the preference sheets, so it is essential that the crew know exactly what you like and dislike plus any medical problems and allergies.
Balance of Vacation Yacht Charter Fees
The balance of your charter fees are payable 45 days prior to the start of your charter. All payments will be clearly marked on your booking contract with us. We will send out reminders nearer the time. For your protection, all monies are held in an escrow account with the clearing houses and released to the crew 10 days prior to the charter.
Charter Yacht Vacation Insurance
Charter yacht vacation insurance is indeed an essential aspect of preparing for your crewed yacht charter. It provides valuable protection and peace of mind in case of unforeseen events that could potentially impact your vacation.
Be sure to obtain the insurance well in advance of your charter vacation to ensure you are fully covered from the start of your trip. Having appropriate insurance in place can provide you and your fellow passengers with a sense of security and allow you to focus on enjoying your memorable crewed yacht charter without unnecessary worries.
Here’s why charter yacht vacation insurance is recommended and what it typically covers:
Trip Cancellation or Interruption
Charter yacht vacation insurance can cover trip cancellation or interruption due to unforeseen circumstances, such as illness, injury, or death of a traveler or a close family member. It may also cover cancellations or disruptions caused by severe weather, natural disasters, or other unforeseen events. Severe weather must include Hurricanes as guests will need to be ashore and in a hotel at their expense.
Medical Emergencies
The insurance can provide coverage for medical emergencies that occur during your charter vacation. This includes medical treatment, hospitalization, and medical evacuation if necessary. Medical expenses in the BVI are very high so this is important coverage.
Travel Delay
If your travel plans are delayed due to reasons covered by the insurance, such as a flight delay or cancellation, the insurance can offer reimbursement for additional expenses incurred, like hotel stays or meals.
Baggage and Personal Belongings
Charter yacht vacation insurance can offer coverage for loss, theft, or damage to your baggage and personal belongings during the trip.
Liability Coverage
It may include liability coverage in case you accidentally cause property damage or bodily injury to others while on the charter yacht.
Emergency Assistance
Many insurance policies provide 24/7 emergency assistance services that can help you in various situations, such as arranging medical care, providing travel information, or coordinating medical evacuation if needed.
While charter yacht vacation insurance is highly recommended, the specific coverage and terms may vary depending on the insurance provider and the policy you choose. It’s essential to carefully review the insurance policy to understand what is covered and what is excluded.
