US Virgin Island Sample Itinerary supplied by Crewed Charter Yacht NUTMEG
This is a sample itinerary for a USVI charter on S/V Nutmeg. We pride ourselves in providing a flexible itinerary for our charter guests. After a day or two, we can adjust the itinerary to what the group wants to do. More sailing, less shopping, more hiking, more snorkeling or diving or less time ashore. The Captain will continually review the itinerary with the guests as we sail around the islands.
Board the Boat at 12 noon at Yacht Haven Grande Marina.
Motor sail through the Charlotte Amalie Harbor to Brewers Bay where you will see historic French Town and Honeymoon Bay. After lunch, this is a perfect first day snorkel which allows guests to see turtles and stingrays.
Sail around the west end of St. Thomas with a stop at Botany Bay for lunch. After lunch take an afternoon sail to Meghan’s Bay. This is a good day for fishing, so we will have the lines out on this trip.
After a leisurely breakfast, guests can paddle board or swim ashore to walk on the longest beach on St. Thomas. After lunch we sail to Cruz Bay, St. John where guests can go ashore for some shopping. The night anchorage is either Caneel Bay or at Maho Bay.
Move around to Waterlemon Cay on the north coast of St. John where you can snorkel all the way around the cay and/or take a short hike to the Annaberg Sugar Mill ruins for a fascinating historical tour. We then tack up the Sir Francis Drake Channel between the BVI and USVI to east end of St. John to Coral Bay where there are many anchorage options for water sports, snorkeling and exploring.
This day is spent doing water sports and snorkeling in some of the anchorages on the south coast of St. John. The evening can be spent at Salt Pond Bay or Lameshur Bay, both of which have snorkeling and hiking.
Sail to Christmas Cove on Great St. James Island. Spend the day snorkeling.
Sail to Buck Island for the last day and night where you can snorkel, dive and view a final sunset.
Sail in to Charlotte Amalie Harbor in time for your departure flight.
